Brief Description	Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornkasem Jongpradist has been working as a faculty member in the Civil Eng. Dept., Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) for over ten years. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. His M.E. and Ph.D. are in the same field from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Before joining KMUTT, Dr. Pornkasem worked with Obayashi Cooperation in Japan as an engineer for 2 years.His primary research areas include computational geomechanics, numerical modeling of geotechnical works, tunneling and underground excavations and ground improvements. Dr. Pornkasem has published a number of research articles in numerical modeling of geotechnical works and ground improvement. He also provides courses on numerical methods and design in geotechnical engineering for graduate students at KMUTT. At the same time, working with industrial and government sectors, he has also taken part in many projects and accumulated experience in analysis and design.
