DESCRIPTION: “Innovations for Unpredictable Ground Condition and Water Ingress”    Wednesday 29th March 2017\, 13:00-17:00 PM. at\, 4th Floor EIT Building    Organized by Thailand Underground and Tunnelling Group (TUTG)    The Engineering Institute of Thailand Under H.M. The King’s Patronage    Sponsored by Cormix International Limited.    SYNOPSIS                    Over the coming 4 years tunnel construction will grow significantly in Thailand with the expansion of the subway system in Bangkok\, double track rail network\, irrigation\, cable\, drainage and waste water tunnels. Construction will be in both hard rock and soft ground with unpredictable GROUND conditions requiring ever more sophisticated speciality chemicals\, foams\, gels resins and grouts to consolidate ground and shut off water movement. Cormix provides unique materials manufactured in Thailand to support construction of tunnels in varying ground conditions providing for faster and safer construction. In addition low cost and rapid installation spray applied highly flexible cementitious waterproofing membranes are now available for hard rock tunnel lining waterproofing. The presentations review the latest technologies available and manufactured in Thailand.    OBJECTIVE    To share information on the latest and alternative technologies for soil consolidation\, water shut off and tunnel waterproofing.
